Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 63.8% of Taft Grade School’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 169 white students enrolled in Taft Grade School in the 2022-23 school year, 4.3% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 265 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 63.8% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Taft School District 90 with a central office in Lockport.

Taft Grade School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 169 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
