Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 15.5% of Walsh Elementary School’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 52 Hispanic students enrolled in Walsh Elementary School in the 2022-23 school year, 2.0% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 335 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 15.5% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Will County School District 92 with a central office in Lockport.

Among the four schools in Will County School District 92, Oak Prairie Junior High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 449 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
