Carol A. Riegel, a longtime resident of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 surrounded by her family. Riegel, born in Joliet, was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Crest Hill where she taught Religious Education and was part of The Crest Hill Lassies. She retired from Chaney Monge School after 28 years as a Second-grade teacher, where she also coached cheerleading, poms, and track. Riegel was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting and exercising. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry Riegel, children Kevin, Kim, and Kerry, grandchildren, sister, brother, nieces, nephews, and numerous family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riegel family for local charities in Carol's name are appreciated. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, followed by interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation at O’Neil Funeral Home will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025.
