LTHS D205 Board honors retiring staff members

On May 19, 2025, the LTHS D205 Board of Education acknowledged the retirement of several staff members for the 2024-2025 school year. The retirees have served in various capacities within the district.

The list includes Alan Bean, a science teacher with 19 years of service; Jeff Brown, a CCA teacher with 29 years; and David Cain, custodial foreman with 4.5 years. Robert Champlin has been a science teacher for 32 years, while Carin Cooper has taught math for 21 years. Doris Fleckenstein served as an assessment coordinator for nearly 35 years.

Among other retirees are Robert Friebel and Guy Gell, both bus drivers with over two decades of service. William Howard ends his tenure as District Manager of Buildings after more than three decades. Josephine Martinez worked in custodial services for almost 18 years.

Victoria Morales retires as a bus driver after serving for 17 years. Dave Niedospial concludes his role as Director of Transportation after 12 years. Andrew Pappas and Chip Schmidt both retire from their respective roles after a decade each.

Terry Sullivan and William Thompson leave their positions as bus driver and Director of Facilities Management respectively after serving for over two decades each. Johnny Tomczak retires as a custodian after nearly two decades of service.

Ronald Vasile concludes his career as a social studies teacher with 19 years at LTHS, while Mary Westberg retires from teaching math after an impressive tenure of over three decades.
