Melvin L. Kut, Veteran Traffic Manager, Dies at 81

Romeoville - Melvin L. Kut, 81, formerly of Lockport's Lago Vista Community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Kut, a Chicago native who later resided in Oak Forest and Lockport, had a career as a traffic manager at Avery Dennison and Witco Chemical before retiring. Known for his love of War and Military history, wrestling, and fishing, Kut cherished moments with his family above all.

Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Kut is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leotta Kut, children Scott Kut and Laura Neuhardt, grandsons Zac and Thomas Neuhardt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel in Lockport. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation at the funeral home will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
