37.2% of Kelvin Grove Junior High School students meet or exceed mathematics IAR expectations on tests in 2023-24 school year

Kelvin Grove Junior High School reported that 37.2% of its students passed the mathematics portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) test in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 266 students who took part in the IAR 34.2% met the testing standard while 3% exceeded expectations and scored highest on the test.

The total percentage of Kelvin Grove Junior High School students who met or exceeded their mathematics expectations was unchanged from the previous school year.

Kelvin Grove Junior High School is located within Lockport School District 91, which roughly covers two schools and has a main office in Lockport.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) measures how well students in grades 3-8 are progressing toward state standards in English language arts and mathematics.

Illinois has approved a 2025 budget that allocates $8.6 billion to K-12 education, a $350 million increase from the previous fiscal year—the minimum required under the state funding formula.
