The Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education convened a Special Board Meeting on October 27, 2025, to review the 2025 Annual Academic Achievement Report. The report offers a detailed analysis of student performance and academic results for the 2024–2025 school year.
According to district officials, the report aims to provide both the Board and the community with a broader understanding of student success, incorporating multiple measures beyond those found in the Illinois School Report Card. The document includes additional performance data that align with district and superintendent objectives, giving a more complete view of student learning, progress, and preparedness.

The Annual Academic Achievement Report is organized into five main sections:
Academic Excellence & Post-Secondary Readiness
- Sixty-nine percent of students in the Class of 2025 met state GPA standards for college and career readiness.
- Nineteen percent achieved a GPA above 4.0.
- The graduation rate remained high, with over ninety-seven percent of seniors earning diplomas in 2025.
College Readiness
- Advanced Placement (AP) participation increased, with eighty percent of AP exam takers earning passing scores.
- There has been significant growth in AP participation among low-income students, who have seen a six hundred nine percent increase in exams taken since 2001.
- Lockport Township High School District 205 is recognized as the top dual credit partner with Joliet Junior College out of twenty-six participating high schools.
- Nine hundred twenty-five students earned dual credit, resulting in an estimated savings of $407,925 for families.
Expanded Opportunities & Programs
- More than three hundred students completed internships or career-exploration experiences.
- Students enrolled in the Career & Community Connections Program—a vocational initiative for persons with disabilities ages eighteen to twenty-one—achieved important independent living milestones such as obtaining driver’s licenses.
- Students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are showing strong post-secondary outcomes.
Community & Career Connections
- All graduating students completed at least forty hours of community service.
- Over two thousand three hundred students participated in two or more sports or extracurricular activities during the past year.
Standardized Testing: ACT Data
Lockport Township High School District 205 students consistently scored above state averages across all tested areas.
The Illinois School Report Card for 2024–2025 remains embargoed until October 30, 2025. Superintendent McBride will formally present this information at the November 17 Board of Education meeting.
